The Quest for Really Great Hair: Act Two- Does it really exist?

The above image is the first picture that popped up on Google when I searched for the term "perfect hair" and of course, it's of the world's highest paid supermodel Giselle Bundchen. Now is Google trying to tell me that I have to be a drop dead gorgeous, amazonian supermodel to have "perfect hair"? Well, it definitely couldn't hurt!
While my hair would probably never be as great as Giselle's, I'm ok with my own definition of "great hair". Read on if you'd like to know where that little quest of mine has gotten me.
So when we last left off, I was pretty satisfied with my hair. I loved how light it had gotten without resorting to bleach. So I kept that colour for a while and did my own roots. My wedding was coming up around the same time so I needed to tone down my hair a little and went for a darker shade of brown (what a surprise). I had also a bit of a haircut in between but it wasn't anything drastic.

---------------------->
Let's fast forward past all of the boring brown hair dyeing in between. I let my hair grow out into the "accidental but on purpose" ombre hair which was popular at the time and then had a little epiphany. I was scared my entire life of damaging my hair too much so I stayed relatively safe with my choices. Suddenly I was very aware that we only had one life to live so why waste it being "safe"? Hair is the one thing that doesn't have an impact on anyone else except for yourself, so you can do whatever you want with it. The best part about hair is that IT GROWS. If I had only listened to that old episode of Sabrina earlier.
So I took the plunge and went to salon to bleach my hair. I ended up bleaching it, not once, but three times in one day and I walked away with this really cool silver pink colour. I faded in the next day or two, giving me a very nice shade of blonde.

So I was a blonde for about two months. Let me tell you, being blonde is harddddd. The maintenance is crazy and being as lazy as I am, I could only stick it out for two months before giving up the fun for a darker colour. I could write a whole post on the trials and tribulations of going of black to blonde but today is not that day.
So at the moment I have a dark ombre going on with light grey ends.

So is this the "really great" hair that I was searching for all my life? Honestly, no. That's because I've since learned that with whatever hair style that I have, I will like it for a while and then just get bored. Human nature made sure of that. I will keep moving from hairstyle to hairstyle in the hopes of achieving one that I would be willing to stick with. Deep down inside though, I don't really want that to happen because where would the fun in that be?
I leave you with that thought and I'll talk to you all soon,
Sarah xxx
